"FLUKE" with PLDT Home Prepaid Wifi -- can't connect

What the hell was that?

I am using a PLDT Home Prepaid Wifi for one of my clinics and I load it Php999.00 once a month that gives me 160GB data allocation (which I don't get to consume).

I load it thru the myPLDT-Smart app. Last Sunday, my load ran out, and decided to just load it just a little before 10am. I wasn't able to connect to the router when I got to the clinic, thinking that there might be some network issues.

But today, 2 days after, when I turned on the laptop, I still wasn't able to connect, even after a couple of power cycles from the laptop and the modem/router. Although, I was able to connect to the modem/router using my cellphone, a SAMSUNG Galaxy S20 Ultra.

My last try was to once again, do another power cycle of the router, but this time, for a longer time. I unplugged it, waited a while, and for what ever reason, I was able to connect!

Hmmmm Curiouser!

BLOGGER app is back?

Was searching for Google apps when I stumbled upon the Blogger app.
I thought Google abandoned this project years ago and I thought, I'll be seeing an old rickety app. But to my surprise, this is a polished one, it may not be an eye candy UI, but at least it's an updated one.

My RED MOBILE SIM

I got this in the mail today. It's the replacement of my uMobile SIM (which has been not active for almost two months now).

The Red Mobile SIM comes with P200.oo credits. I'll try it out with my SE M600i but I'm not betting of having it as my alternate number.

Will update here for more experiences.

Frustrating Phone

I love my android phone, it's an LG Optimus One P500.

It gave me a chance to fiddle with the Android OS. It's got Froyo on it, which means I can use it as a portable/mobile hotspot. But to use that hotspot, I must be subscribed to a data plan, which I am, with Sun Cellular. But that's going to be another story.

I was driving to the clinic, I thought how fun I'm having with this phone. But I would be deleting some apps from it because I have a Motorola Xoom coming from the US at the end of the month. I thought how it doesn't give me (anymore) problems with it's data connection disappearing when ever I activate the mobile hotspot feature. But I guess I was wrong.

When I got to the clinic, I set up my toys (so I will have something to do while waiting for patients to come in), I set up the phone to function as a mobile hotspot, then, there it was...the data connection started acting up...heck no...it just disappeared!!!! I tried restarting the phone, doing some reconnection, apparently, I can reconnect but I have to disable the mobile hotspot feature. Tsk

The last time I did this, I always have to "reformat" the phone by doing a hard reset. Which I just did. Not really a big deal as all my contacts and appointments are synced with gmail and google calendar. So they'll just re-appear on the phone. But what bugs me is...this bug, which renders the phone unreliable.

HP DESKJET 3545 Photo Printer

Chose this printer because of the price (a little less than Php 5000, the photo printing and wireless capabilities.

Set up was a breeze on the windows machines but there's something wrong with the set up on the Mac. The wireless thingie on the Mac is not that easy to detect.

Will update this page on the printing quality once I get to use it after a week.

Open Garden

I can't seem to make Open Garden app work for my phone and Tablet.

There's a very good concept though. Using a sort of mesh network between devices to share data connection, it uses low power and less risk of hacking (if ever it exists) because one will not use the mobile hotspot feature of the phone.

Still, it does not work!

OK Google

So after a while of wishing that my LG G2 get this feature (both my Nexus 7 and Alcatel both c/o the Google Now Launcher has it), all of a sudden, the mic on the Google Search Bar is finally shaded out, which means it is on and is now capable of launching just by saying the magical words, OK GOOGLE.

But now, every time I say those magical words, all my 3 devices wake up! And regarding the G2, seems like the voice notes app doesn't work when the mic is being used by another application (Google Now).

Why I won't suggest Sony smartphones

Although Sony makes one of the best smartphones, it wouldn't be on top of my list to suggest. Why? Because Sony is known to be too slow or just forget their phones when firmware (Android) updates are available.
